Agricultural machinery manufacturer Krone enables customers to configure on the web themselves
KRONE in Spell in Lower Saxony, a global leader in agricultural machinery manufacturing, uses speedmaxx Enterprise. KRONE calls its system EasySelect and it can be accessed directly from its website.
And the special thing about it is that the product configurator allows farmers and machinery contractors to simply select and virtually compose the equipment they require themselves. This simplifies pricing and quotation preparation for everyone involved. Around 180 products plus x variants from the broad agricultural technology sector are ultimately involved such as forage harvesters, balers, transport wagons, mowers etc. Customer focus is paramount – the configurator always comes up with a buildable machine.
The high degree of transparency was also a key feature for the agricultural machinery manufacturer. It was therefore important for KRONE that the rule base works. A check on whether something is possible or not must be made during the process and not afterwards.
“The entire chain mapped – from customer to the factory”
Decisive features of ACATEC’s product configurator for KRONE are: the software can map the entire process chain from start to finish – from customer, i.e. farmer or machinery contractor configuring the product on the Internet via the reseller and the plant representative to the employees in the factory. The system is based on SAP automation running in the background.
However, a large part of the power is hidden "under the bonnet". Agreement between resellers and plant representatives is a major component of the WEB solution – and can only be viewed by a closed user group.
Offline configuration
Offline configuration is also possible. In this case, everything that is required, including SAP master data etc., is replicated locally to a computer.
Krone uses the following speedmaxx Enterprise product modules:
The guided, safe route to the correct and buildable variant,
the core of speedmaxx
Clear and standard representation and documentation of variants requiring explanation
Determine costs of production and selling prices for variants quickly and reliably, optimise margins
Use, generate and make master data, bills of material and documents available in a rule-based process
Run product configurators on WEB servers, application servers, notebooks and PCs
User interfaces and documents in the languages of your target markets
